On the sidelines of the International Conference on the Role of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Applications in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA), a workshop entitled ‘Measuring and Evaluating the Impact of Libraries on Society’ was held.

The workshop was presented by Mrs. Dina Youssef, Director of Library Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) Egypt, and Mr. Walid Al-Badi, Director of the Omani Council Library, Sultanate of Oman.

Its objective is to train and equip library and information specialists with the knowledge and skills necessary to measure, evaluate, and demonstrate the impact of library services effectively. Participants will learn about various methods and applications used to monitor library activities and their societal impact, ensuring the recognition of their value and long-term sustainability.
